Q: I can load web pages, but I can’t access my email through my mail client (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc).
A: The two most likely causes of this are an incorrectly configured mail filtering program and/or a firewall blocking access on your system. Try temporarily disabling these features, commonly part of the anti-virus program you have installed, and seeing if you can send and receive email. If, after disabling one or both of these options, you are able to send and receive email, you can either leave them disabled or configure them correctly before turning them back on again.

Q: How do I access the Red Condor SPAM filter to adjust my settings?
A: Any day you have mail that is filtered by the Red Condor service, you are sent an email listing the items that were prevented from reaching your inbox. In the second paragraph above the items listed, there is a link to your ‘Personal Dashboard.’ By double-clicking on this link, you are able to access the settings specific to the filter for your email account. The first time you use this link you will be prompted to create a password for your Personal Dashboard. Make certain to remember this password. Once you have created your password, you can access your Personal Dashboard from anywhere using your email address and the password you created. It may also be a good idea to bookmark the site, or save it as one of your favorites in your web browser for easy access from your home or work computer. Download the Red Condor Users Guide (pdf) to learn more.

Q: Can I access my 702 email account away from my home/office computer system?
A: Yes, you can. You can access any new mail you haven’t already downloaded by logging into the 702 Communications email server in your web browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc) at the following address: http://webmail.702com.net . If you are using an email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Mac Mail, etc) you cannot see emails that you have already downloaded with that program except from your normal “home” system. You will need your account name, which is everything before the @ in your email address, and the valid password for your account. If you are unable to remember the correct username and/or password for your account, simply call the Help Desk and we will be happy to assist you.

A. Yes, you will be able to dial 911 with 702’s VoIP service. It is important that you know that 911 calling works differently with VoIP than with traditional phone service. During the sign-up process you will be required to give 702 a Service Address. This address will also serve as your registered 911 address. If you move locations you must notify 702 Communications so they are able to update your address in the 911 records. Please keep in mind that 911 dialing will not function in the event of a broadband or power outage or if you broadband service is terminated. Customers should always be prepared to give their location and information when calling 911 and always have a back-up source to make 911 calls.
